Urban Cries..

Tuesday, March 28, 2006

The air glides through the noisy night, a sea of people lurching back and forth.
loud blaring horns and louder lights; an occasional shout muffled.
"Take it, this watch, Iz only 100 bugs!" As the passers-by give no sign of having heard him;
They keep walking on, driving on.
THERE IS NO TIME TO WASTE!

An abandoned lampost casts a sepian tinge, a couple tightly glued to a wall,
their children involved in a small scramble, as the couple stay glued clutching bags by their side,
"Auto! Auto! Stop pleeees!" None of them Three-wheeler freaks show signs of stopping.
DEAF, ALL SO DEAF. CURSE THEM!

The newspaper arrives, early morning; coffee and smokes,
"A glorious new plan for the city" *sigh* *sip* *sigh*.
CAN WE ACTUALLY SEE SOME WORK GETTING DONE?!?

Strangers passing in the street, by chance two seperate glances meet,
bloodshot eyes meet the tired glance, broken glass around the corner.
AND YOU THOUGHT YOU CALLED THE SHOTS HERE?

The mind's playground..

Exit wounds;
start the rolling,
a changing scene;
the spliff is lit.
Dense fumes and
denser thoughts;
waiting for the spliff
to arrive, as you watch
the faces, turned from
stirred, to calm.
The turn is yours now,
as the smoke rolls in and
time glances at you; stand still.
Floating in fumes, travelling
to the world that lies
on the other side, where
the friends' lives meet again.
where all is one; yet no one at all.
The pathway has been lit
now, visit the other side by
the way of the fire; as
you leap ahead, beyond
the fumes and the sick vibes,
Sheltered in a capsule
of abundance:
time has diminished
to the point of insignificance,
Your mind's playground is now ready..

Song Update: Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

Wouldn't it be wonderful..

Wouldn't it be wonderful
If we all Lived for a change?
and all came together,
to lift our bleak present,
to a peaceful, bright future.

Wouldn't it be great
If man loved for a change?
if hatred was reduced to
nothingness, and
joy would be measured
by the happiness, of
everyone around us.

Wouldn't we be grateful?
to ourselves and others
if we put aside the greed,
the selfishness, and just lived
in this world of ours, the world we built.

Wouldn't you cry out of joy?
If your children played
free again in clear fields,
while the birds resumed
their song, in the once silent
and dreaded fields..

Painting: The Triumph of Death by Pieter Bruegel

As i walk down the road,
lost in a worldly jungle
of selfishness,
reflecting on life and this
world that was once ours.

Struck by the uneasy feeling
of reality,
sadness fills my heart,
looking at all the blinded people,
and thier effort called survival.

Having closed all the doors
around them,
but, the worldly one where
power, greed and indifference
bred and made merry.

Countless lives lost, the
remaining left grieving, survival
was but cheating death, which
lay at every corner, of
even the most dingy streets.
